Biosafety and biodegradation studies of AZ31B magnesium alloy carotid artery stent in vitro and in vivo

This article evaluates the safety and degradation of a biodegradable stent made of AZ31B magnesium alloy on nerve cells. The authors found that the stent had low cytotoxicity and did not cause psychomotor disability in animal models. They concluded that the stent was feasible and safe for carotid artery stenosis.
