Anticoagulation and antibacterial functional coating on vascular implant interventional medical catheter

The article is about a new coating for vascular implant interventional medical catheter that has anticoagulation and antibacterial functions. The coating is made of chitosan with copper ions grafted in it. The authors tested the properties and performance of the coating in vitro and found that it reduced blood clotting and platelet adhesion, as well as inhibited bacterial growth. The authors concluded that the coating could improve the blood compatibility and anti-infection property of vascular devices and has potential for clinical application.
